Woke up early today to drive back to the nut and have lunch with my parents. We planned to go to my usual go-to sushi restaurant Ninja Sushi, but who'da known 99% of sushi restaurants are closed on Sundays. WTF? But having driven half an hour looking forward to some good ol' sushi, I needed to find some substitution to fix my fish craving. We decided to try a 4-star place called Momo Sushi.
My mom and I ordered the AYCE sushi and were pretty surprised with the amount of fish on the plates. You get 3 rounds of ordering, but obviously I would order too much by our 1st round, so we couldn't even get to the next 2. 0:)
Surprisingly, these scallop sushi pieces were pretty decent.
The Cajun Seared Tuna roll was pretty good as well as well.
After getting back to LA, I met Monica and Jane to "study" at Philz Coffee. The past 4-5 times that I've been to Philz, I usually get some random drink that tastes nasty. But with my NY trip around the corner, I decided to order the New Manhattan light roast, which consists of cinnamon, citrus and cherry. It was bomb[dot]com! I actually finished my entire cup of coffee.
After wasting about 3 hours of "studying" time, we got hungry and decided to walk across the street to grab some grub at Sea Salt Grill.
The interior of the two-story restaurant is pretty cute. You order at the cashier, and they bring out the food to your table.
And here comes the food galore...
Monica's Classic Fish Taco and Grilled Mahi Mahi Taco. Of course I would accidentally focus in on the limes.
Jane's Beer Battered Fish and Chips (Alaskan cod, fries, Seasalt slaw and homemade tartar sauce)
My California Po' Boy Sandwich (panko breaded tiger shrimp with avocado, bibb lettuce, and tomatoes on a hoagie roll, with a side of Seasalt slaw)
